1. The service
CalCalories helps users photograph meals, review AI-generated calorie and macronutrient estimates, track saved meals, view nutrition trends, set profile-based starting goals, and ask an AI nutrition coach general-wellness questions. Features may change as the service improves.
2. Eligibility and accounts
You must be at least 18 years old to use CalCalories. You are responsible for the security of your device and account and for activity performed through your account. Guest accounts may be unrecoverable if you lose access to the device or end the guest session.
3. Your responsibilities
- Review AI-generated nutrition information before saving or relying on it.
- Provide information you have the right to upload and process.
- Use CalCalories lawfully and avoid attempts to disrupt, reverse engineer, overload, or misuse the service.
- Do not use the service to make urgent, clinical, or safety-critical health decisions.
4. Health and nutrition disclaimer
Meal recognition, portions, calories, macronutrients, goals, and AI Coach replies may be incomplete or inaccurate. CalCalories is intended only for general wellness and informational use. It is not a substitute for advice from a physician, registered dietitian, or other qualified professional.
If you have a medical condition, allergy, eating disorder, pregnancy-related nutrition need, take medication, or require a therapeutic diet, consult a qualified professional. In an emergency, contact local emergency services.
5. CalCalories Pro and subscriptions
CalCalories Pro may be offered as an auto-renewable monthly or annual subscription through Apple In-App Purchase. The App Store shows the current price, billing period, trial eligibility, and local currency before confirmation. Payment is charged to your Apple ID. Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours before the current period ends.
You can manage or cancel a subscription in your Apple account settings. Refunds are handled by Apple under its policies. Free trials, when offered, are subject to App Store eligibility and convert to a paid subscription unless canceled before the trial ends.
6. Your content
You retain ownership of meal photos, profile images, text, and corrections you submit. You grant CalCalories a limited right to host, process, transform, and display that content only as needed to provide, secure, and improve the requested service. You represent that you have the rights needed to submit the content.
7. Acceptable use
You may not use CalCalories to violate law, infringe another person’s rights, upload malicious content, evade usage limits, access another account, test the service for vulnerabilities without permission, or interfere with service operation. We may limit or suspend access reasonably necessary to protect users or the service.
8. Availability and changes
We work to keep CalCalories available but do not promise uninterrupted or error-free operation. AI providers, hosting services, or App Store systems may occasionally be unavailable. We may add, remove, or change features and will avoid materially reducing paid features during an active subscription without appropriate notice or remedy where required.
9. Intellectual property
CalCalories, its app design, software, branding, and original content are owned by Chan Ka Wai or licensed for use. These terms do not transfer ownership to you. You may not copy or distribute the app or branding except as permitted by law.
10. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, CalCalories is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, or uninterrupted availability. Chan Ka Wai is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for decisions made from estimated nutrition information. Nothing in these terms excludes rights or liability that cannot legally be excluded.
11. Ending use
You may stop using CalCalories at any time and can delete your account in the app. We may suspend or terminate access for serious or repeated violations, security threats, legal requirements, or service discontinuation. Subscription cancellation and account deletion are separate actions.
12. Apple terms
Your download and use of the iOS app are also subject to Apple’s applicable App Store terms. Where no custom licensed-application agreement is presented in the App Store, Apple’s Standard End User License Agreement applies.
13. Changes and contact
We may update these terms as CalCalories changes. The revised version will be posted here with a new “Last updated” date. For questions, visit the CalCalories Support page or email support@calcalories.app.
